Coordinated Drone Strikes on Kursk Airfield by SBU Military Counterintelligence, Reports Confirm

Sources have disclosed that Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) military counterintelligence carried out a targeted attack on the Russian airfield in Kursk on the night of August 27. The facility reportedly houses aircraft and air defense systems operated by Russian forces.

According to inside sources, the coordinated operation deployed kamikaze drones that successfully destroyed four Su-30 aircraft and one MiG-29. Additional targets included radar systems of the S-300 complex and two Pantsir air defense systems.

Initial data indicates that the majority of the SBU-operated drones reached their intended objectives, with only three being intercepted by Russian air defenses. The SBU later commented, “Given that even Russian sources reported a minimum of 13 explosions, the impact of the operation is considerable. Further details on the extent of the damage and any casualties will be forthcoming.”

Officials from the 13th Main Directorate of the SBU have also reportedly carried out another successful operation, details of which remain confidential at this time.

Local Accounts of Explosions

Residents of Kursk took to social media to report hearing multiple explosions and automatic gunfire the same night. Subsequent video evidence showed visible flashes illuminating the night sky.

The Governor of the Kursk region later confirmed the drone attack, but minimized its impact, claiming only one drone had struck a residential building.
