F-20260921-01 resolved: YES, with a caveat. The question was whether Iran's tanker-attack tempo would return to two or more confirmed incidents a week by 5 October. Tankers were struck on 29 September, twice on 2 October (assessed by Critical Threats as likely IRGC Navy attacks), and again on 4 October. The caveat is attribution: UKMTO reports described "unknown projectiles," so Iranian responsibility is assessed rather than proven. Priced at 45%; Brier contribution 0.3025. Ledger: 17 forecasts, running average about 0.20.

WHAT HAPPENED ON 5 OCTOBER#
Middle East (EU ▲2)
- CENTCOM said US forces have destroyed 13 commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz in recent months.
Confirmed(as a CENTCOM statement) - Kpler data showed Middle Eastern oil exports exceeded pre-war levels last week. Experts stressed the situation is far from normal, and Iran is still deprived of much of its own exports by the US blockade. This is the clearest sign yet that flows through Hormuz have recovered from the very low readings this desk cited earlier, mostly for non-Iranian cargoes.
Confirmed - Iran's Foreign Ministry and speaker kept the line that Hormuz stays closed to the US-linked traffic until its seven conditions are met, while Iranian officials said they were preparing a response to the US rejection.
Confirmed - Gulf News reported Iran plans longer-range missiles; this was not independently verified. Aramco's CEO warned that replenishing global crude stocks will take a long time even after Hormuz fully reopens.
Developing(missile claim),Confirmed(Aramco warning) - GlobalSecurity.org's tracker recorded no Iranian drone attack on a host state for a thirtieth consecutive day. Tanker strikes continued separately.
Confirmed
Eastern Europe & Black Sea (EU ▲2)
- Russia's Defence Ministry pledged to intensify attacks on Kyiv and other major cities after the weekend's bridge strikes. The US has proposed fresh trilateral peace talks by the end of October, and Ukraine responded positively.
Confirmed - Trump softened toward Zelensky and said a mineral deal is coming "soon," after earlier remarks this series blaming Zelensky for the war's deaths.
Confirmed(statements) - Ukraine's Defence Ministry said deep strikes have wrecked more than half of Russia's oil refining capacity. That is a Ukrainian claim and not independently verified.

ASSESSMENT#
The Kpler finding is the most important correction to this desk's own picture in weeks. Earlier issues leaned on tracker data showing about one Hormuz transit a day. If Middle Eastern exports have recovered past pre-war levels, then the "near-total closure" framing was true for a period and is not true now. Both Trump's "oil is flowing" statements and Iran's "the strait is closed" statements are partly right: flows have returned for many shippers, while Iran's own exports are blocked and the strait is still hazardous. This desk reports that and flags that it has not refreshed the tracker directly.
The forecast resolution is a reminder that a correct-direction call can still be a poor calibrated price. The 45% price was reasonable for a genuine uncertainty, and the Brier cost of 0.30 reflects that the event happened.
